The Creation

and
The Original Sin
Day 1 of the Creation
God created light and separated the light from the darkness, calling light “day” and
darkness “night.”
Day 2 of the Creation
God created an expanse to separate the waters and called it “sky.”
Day 3 of the Creation
God created the dry ground and gathered the waters, calling the dry ground “land,” and
the gathered waters “seas.” On day three, God also created vegetation (plants and trees).
Day 4 of the Creation
God created the sun, moon, and the stars to give light to the earth and to govern and separate
the day and the night. These would also serve as signs to mark seasons, days, and years.
Day 5 of the Creation
God created every living creature of the seas and every winged bird,
blessing them to multiply and fill the waters and the sky with life.
Day 6 of the Creation
God created the animals to fill the earth. On day six, God also created man and woman (Adam
and Eve) in his own image to commune with him. He blessed them and gave them every
creature and the whole earth to rule over, care for, and cultivate.
Day 7 of the Creation
God had finished his work of creation and so he rested on the
seventh day, blessing it and making it holy.
Why did God
did this?
Adam, Eve
and
the Snake
“You may eat and do anything you want in this garden
but do not eat or even touch the tree in the middle of the
garden or you will die. “
When God left them at the Garden, a serpent talked to them and said that
the tree that God forbid them to eat its fruits is the tree of knowledge. That
when they eat its fruit they will be just like God who has the wisdom of
knowing what is good and evil.
Eve was convinced by the snake and because of eating a fruit from the tree
of knowledge, Adan and Eve realized that they are naked and immediately
hide themselves and created their clothes from the leaves of trees.
And when God returned that evening, they immediately
hide themselves from God.

As a punishment, the
serpent lost it’s legs from
then on.
God knew that Adam and Eve can no longer live in the garden
because of their sins so he sent them away and closed the
garden.
The Original Sin
-The sin inherited by all humankind from Adam and Eve in their
disobedience of God’s command
-also referred to as “The Fall of Man”

• The Fall • Nature of Original Sin

- Adam’s choice to disobey - not a committed sin,
God’s command is considered a but rather a contracted sin.
“Fall” because his choice to sin
represent a fall from grace.
