 The Electricity Billing System is an automated system that is developed using PHP,
HTML ,JavaScript , Bootstrap, CSS and MySQL database.
 This Electricity Billing System has two sections; the client section and the admin
section.
 The admin plays a vital role in all of the management of the Electricity Billing System.
 PHP is among the first server side languages that could be embedded into HTML making
it easier to add functionality to web pages without ending to call external files for data

 Paying bills such as your electricity bill can cost you a lot of time. Most especially when you
need to fall in a long line in order to pay your bill.
 That’s why it’s an advantage to have this automated Electricity Billing System, it’s not just
very helpful but it will also lessen the stress of many people because they don’t have to be
there on the outlet just to pay the bill.
 All they have to do is just go to the website register for a client’s account then they can have
an access into the system.
 As they logged in as a Client, he now has the ability to view his bill of the month then, he
can also send a complain regarding on his bill.
 While on the admin section, he has the ability to issue a billing statement to the client and
make a response whenever there are complaints.

 To develop an online system to manage electrical billing for the administrator
and customer.
 To collect the power consumption information and integrate with centralised
database system via GSM device.
 To calculate the electrical bill and generate a report on the power consumption
information through online.
 To maintain the information about the personal and official details of the bill.
Objective of the project

 This project is an innovation which makes the way of paying electrics city bill
simple compared to other existing projects this project has been implemented
using HTML.
 It maintains error free database and easily incorporate the future developments
and changes.
 To develop and well designed database to store employee information.
 Provides full functional reports to management of electricity bill.
 Electric meter bill:
Electric meter or energy meter measures the total power
consumed over a time interval. Electric utilities use electric
meters installed at customers' premises for billing and
monitoring purposes. They are typically calibrated in billing
units, the most common one being the kilowatt hour (kWh).

When energy savings during certain periods are desired, some

meters may measure demand, the maximum use of power in
some interval. "Time of day" metering allows electric rates to be
changed during a day, to record usage during peak high-cost
periods and off-peak, lower-cost, periods. Also, in some areas
meters have relays for demand response load shedding during
peak load periods.
Advantages

 The system excludes the need of maintaining paper electricity bill as all the electricity bill
records are managed electronically.
 Administrator doesn’t have to keep a manual track of the users. The system automatically
calculates fine
 The system excludes manual bill calculation.
 Users don’t have visit the office for bill payment.
 There is no need of delivery boy for delivering bills to users place.
 Thus, it saves human efforts and resources.
Disadvantages

 Users must have a reliable internet connection.

 There is no human interaction if users have some enquiry. It is not
cost-effective for small scale business owners.
 Invoices can go into spam folders due to flagging by email servers;
that leads to delay of payments.
 Reaching offline customers who do not access the internet makes
the process difficult.
Future scope of the project

 We can provide SMS based alerts and email notifications for building ,the wallet can be
developed to handle discounts on the point basis it can also be used provide referral code
concept for referring friends.
 Electricity billing system will enable the customer and building department staff to make
things faster and can get information quickly ,if we want any information about bill or
slip, we can access it quick.
