A March Storm
It was a calm March evening when suddenly a large storm blew in from the north.
“A storm is coming!” I yelled, from downstairs. I quickly ran to the barn to check on my horse. I heard my
dog barking and knew something was wrong. The barn was dark. I called the nearby market to see if they lost
power too. A tall tree had fallen in the forest, and the power had gone out. The electric company came right
away but said it could take hours to restore the power. It was quite a chore. In the meantime, to keep my horse
calm, I gently combed her soft mane. The storm was over quickly. The sky was beautiful with colors of

orange and pink, and there was no more wind. I’m glad the wind didn’t do any damage. It just knocked a lot
of acorns onto the ground.
