CLIMATE CHANGE
INTRODUCTION

• The speech was held during the visit of UN in the 74th


session of UN in new york .
• The general debate started on September 24 and ends on
September 30, with dozens of world leaders scheduled to
address the General Assembly.
THE MAJOR ISSUES

• Climate change
• Money laundering
• Islmophobia
• Kashmir issue
CLIMATE CHANGE

• The first issue discussed in PM Imran khan speech .


• He said that he saw many leaders talking about this issue but there is lack
of seriousness.
• He start with our country Pakistan , and Pakistan is a agricultural country
and depend upon our river and 80% water came from glaciers such as
Karakoram, Hindukush, Himalya .
• Pakistan is included in top 10 countries worldwide which are facing the
climate change .
• Our glaciers which are source of water not only in pakistsn but also for the
rivers of india, are melting rapidly , and if it will be continue , if nothing is
done , then we humman are facing a great loss
AFFECTS OF CLIMATE
CHANGE

Pakistan’s projected temperature increase is expected to be higher than the global


average.
• Projected temperature increase in northern parts is expected to be higher than
the southern parts of the country.
• The frequency of hot days and hot nights is expected to increase significantly.
• Pakistan’s rainfall projections do not indicate any systematic changing trends.
• An increasing trend in the rainfall over the Upper Indus Basin and decreasing
trend in the Lower Indus Basin.
Extreme weather, such as cyclones or intense monsoons are likely to increase
in Pakistan because of increased sea and atmospheric temperature.
SLOUTIONS

• He said that when they came into power in KPK they have planted a billion
tree in KPK , and now we have target to palnt 10 billion in the whole
country .
• He said that one country cannot do anything this has to be combined effort
of the world .
• United Nation shuld take lead on this , countries which are responsible for
the omission of green house gases should be noticed as pakistan omit a very
little amount of these gases .
