• Some janapadas grew into


powerful kingdoms.

• These powerful kingdoms were


known as mahajanapadas.

• Vatsa kingdom was situated

Yamuna.

• The most notable ruler of this


kingdom was Udayana.

powerful rulers of Magadha.

• He strengthened his position by
