Ceva’s Theorem
Cevians
-A cevian is a line segment in a triangle draw from a vertex to the
opposite side.
-Named after Italian mathematician and engineer Giovanni Ceva
(1647-1734).
Special Cevian Cases
• Angle bisectors – drawn from a vertex such that it bisects the
angle
• Median – draw from a vertex to the midpoint of the opposite side
• Altitude – drawn from a vertex perpendicular to the opposite side
