The major
breakthrough of the
graphic organizer
happened in the 1960s
when Ausubel (1963)
theorized how new
concepts become
facilitating factors that
influence learning.
Graphic Organizers
Graphic organizers provide a visual
representation in developing and
summarising students' learning components.
They help structure disjointed information by
creating patterns that represent the
interconnectedness of ideas (Tacaiochta &
Leibheal, 2008).
Why Use Graphics Organizers?
1.It facilitates critical and creative
thinking.

the idea behind this type of graphic
organizer revolves around the use of inductive
and deductive thinking patterns. Inductive
thinking mainly shares pieces of evidence in
support of big ideas, while deductive thinking
provides evidence for underlying concepts or
topics.

these organizers use various shapes
and forms to visually represent several
concepts or pieces of information. It allows
the students to see connections and analyze
relationships among concepts. The most
common example of this is the concept map.

this type of organizer shows how to
evaluate and explain concepts through
visual perspectives. An example is a pie
graph where one can assume that the
component which has the largest portion is
the most frequently used or picked.
