• Global warming refers to the recent and ongoing rise in global average
temperature near Earth's surface. It is caused mostly by increasing
concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Global warming is
causing climate patterns to change.
History
- This amount add on the 2005 energy policy Act, which among
other measures mandated the use of corn-based ethanol as a
motor-vehicle fuel.

i.e. In China government has invested in solar and wind power, particularly
through the 2006 Renewable Energy Law and the $586 billion economic
stimulus package of 2008.
Action taken by countries cont.
One of the many factors that have been examined is the role
of intellectual property rights in the transfer of ESTs to,
and their use by, entities in developing countries. It is
now accepted among policy-making communities that
there is a dearth of data and evidence regarding this
relationship.
EST, Technology transfer and IP cont.
To address this policy-makers are prioritizing the collection of
evidence on IPRs and ESTs in the context of their climate change
mitigation effort.
It is important that the EST transfer not be seen as a passive, one way
process. Developing countries must actively promote EST
assimilation and utilization.
