Visayas architecture
like churches, municipal hall and other well-known
landmark shows the period when it was build or
who influence the designer.
Knowing the principle of arts which depicts by each
style we can say that is Baroque if it has a thick
walls, decorative arcades and others; Gothic is
having balance towers, decorative and
arrangements and Neo-classical are plain walls and
with elegant designs.
At present time, architecture consider the
utilization of the space (thick and decorative
walls-window glass and walls), durability of
materials and the amount of materials.

The Santo Tomás de Villanueva
Parish, also known as Miagao

design elements along with motifs of Chinese
and Filipino aspects in its facade, making it a

Philippines.

features images of female saints
inside, including Saint Anne,
the patron saint of Molo. The
National Historical Institute
declared it a national landmark
in 1992.

located in the district of Molo in Iloilo City, Iloilo, in
the Philippines.
