C. Weber’s Bureaucracy

• Max Weber, German Sociologist wrote in the early 1900s that ideal
organizations specially the large ones, must have authority
structures and coordination with others based on what he referred
to as bureaucracy.
What is Bureaucracy?

• Bureaucracy is a form of work organization. It can help


organizations run smoothly and effiently.
• The word Bureaucracy comes from the French word “bureau,
which means desk or office, and from the Greek word “kratein”,
which means to rule.

• Military
• Police force
• Tax Agency
• Healthcare Industry
• Education system

• This involves the study of the conduct, demeanour, or action at


work. Research on behavior helps managers carry out their
function-leading, team building, resolving conflict, and others.
