 Define part and whole; OBJECTIVES

 Differentiate law of closure from figure &

ground as applied to global networks.

 Discuss the different roles of parts of a

whole to grasp the concepts and apply
them to real-life scenarios.

BACK
GLOBALIZATION
 leads to interconnectedness
of people and nations

People
 refer to a group of people with
commonality, such as religion, culture
and language who lives in a specific
area.
Nation
 refers to a larger group of people
organized in a specific place, which
embodied an independent government
of its country where they can decide on
their own.

DEFINITION OF KEY
TERMS
GESTALT- is used in
modern German to mean the way
a thing has been “placed” or “put
together”
- “Form” and “Shape” is the usual
translation
GESTALT LAWS-
are RULES that describe how the
human eye perceives visual
elements.

In psychology, GESTALT is an
organized WHOLE that is
perceived as more than the sum
of its PARTS.
PARTS
 as subdivisions into which
something is or is regarded
as divided and which
together constitute the
whole.
Whole
 is simply defined as the
completeness of the parts or
components.
In the different subjects
in senior high school,
the word part or parts is
often used in different
topics.

IN MATH, SCIENCE & ENGLISH

1. In Mathematics, it is tackled in the lesson on
fraction,
2. In English we always hear the topic Parts of a
Sentence, Parts of Speech, and many more.
3. We also learned the different parts of the
body/human body system in Science subjects
4. As well as in labeling the parts of vehicles in
automotive and electronics classes.
In social studies, you have learned the roles or
functions of the different branches of
government.
PRINCIPLES OF
GESTALT LAW
Law of Closure
 Explains how we perceive incomplete shapes (Palmer &
Rock, 1994).
 When there is missing information in an image, the eye
ignores the missing information and fills in the gaps with
lines, color or patterns from the surrounding area to
complete the image.
PRINCIPLES OF
GESTALT LAW
Figure & Ground Principle
 States that people instinctively perceive objects as
either being in the foreground or the background.
 They either stand out prominently in the front (the
figure) or recede into the back (the ground)

what the first group have said and after which, they will
start telling what they think about the word they pick
simultaneously.
