    This randomized controlled trial studied 1,099 patients with acute ischemic stroke who were randomized to receive either Neuro Aid (MLC 601, 901) or a placebo. The inclusion criteria was narrowed to 548 patients with a NIHSS score of 8-14 at onset and a modified Rankin score of greater than 2 at discharge or day 10. Both groups received standard anti-thrombotic treatment and rehabilitation. The study found that the time to achieve functional recovery based on modified Rankin score was significantly shorter in the Neuro Aid group compared to the placebo group (p=0.039).
