Enterprise-Wide Systems
Istilah Enterprise systems (ES) paralel dengan enterprise-wide
information systems dan juga enterprise information systems.
Tidak seperti SIA yang hanya fokus pada satu fungsi yaitu fungsi
akuntansi, ES meliputi semua fungsi yang ada dalam suatu
perusahaan.
ES menyatukan fungsi proses bisnis dan informasi dari semua fungsi
seperti pemasaran, penjualan, penerimaan kas, pengeluaran kas,
sdm, produksi dan logistik. Karena mengintegrasikan semua fungsi
yang ada, maka informasi yang dihasilkan oleh ES lebih berkualitas
(lebih terkoordinasi, lebih akurat, lebih up-to-date, dsb).
Informasi yang lebih berkualitas diharapkan dapat menghasilkan
keputusan yang lebih baik untuk perusahaan.
