My heavenly Father, as I start my work this day, I bring your presence
with me.
I speak your peace, your grace, your mercy and your perfect order into
my work.
I acknowledge your power over all that will be done, spoken, thought
and decided within these walls.
Lord, I thank you for the gifts you have blessed me with.
I commit to use them responsibly in your honor.
Give me a fresh supply of strength to do my job.
Anoint my projects, ideas, and energy, so that even my smallest
accomplishment may bring you glory.
Lord, when I am confused, guide me.
When I am weary, energize me.
When I am burned out, infuse me with the light of the Holy Spirit.
May the work that I do and the way I do it bring faith, joy and a smile
to all that I come in contact with today.
Lord, I thank you for everything you've done, everything you are doing,
and everything, you are going to do.
O Glorious St. Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor,
obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously, putting the call of
duty above my natural inclinations, to work with gratitude and joy,
in a spirit of penance for the remission of my sins, considering it an
honor to employ and develop by means of labor the gifts received
from God, to work with order, peace, moderation and patience,
without ever shrinking from weariness and difficulties, to work
above all with purity of intention and detachment from self, having
always death before my eyes and the account that I must render of
time lost, of talents wasted, of good omitted, of vain complacency in
success, so fatal to the work of God.
All for Jesus with much love and thanksgiving, all through Mary, all
after thine example, O Patriarch, St. Joseph. Such shall be my motto
in life and in death.
