Brief Description

Our project is a flashlight that is

solely powered by the heat of a
human hand.
The human body produces energy
equivalent to a 100 watt light bulb,
at any given moment, so we are
always producing energy.
In order for this energy not to be
wasted, this energy can be used to
power a light bulb.

The Theory
• The flashlight powered by thermoelectricity, also called
the Peltier-Seebeck effect. It’s a reverse phenomenon,
being able to direct conversion of heat into electricity or
vice versa.
• The circuit created uses the power of thermoelectricity
when there is different temperature on each side and this
created the voltage to power the LED bulbs.
• On one side, our hand will radiate the heat needed, and
on the other side, a liquid will be used to cool and create
the temperature difference.

Scientific Method
Question The Question asked was “Is there a way to Test Peltier tiles will be used to produce
use the heat we radiate to power a electricity when there is a temperature
flashlight?” difference, water cools one side and our
hand heats the other. This voltage will be
amplified in a circuit.

Analyze The flashlight is able to work if there is a 5

Hypothesis We believe a hand heat powered Conclusion Even though we were unable to power
flashlight can be created using our LED bulb, we can see that a voltage is

current to power an LED bulb materials and procedure, a hand-heated
flashlight is doable.
