Principles of sighting in sp wpn

• Dominate en adv axis.


• Fire up to max range.
• Use of obs in killing area.

terminology of sighting
• Primary Loc. Loc that have good cover, protection and arc
of fire.
• Warning Post. Loc before Primary Loc established.
• Alternative Loc . Loc must be established if Primary Loc is
uneffective, been attk or have be known by en.
• Secondary Loc. Must be estb for secondary task. Loc must
be sited just like Primary Loc.
• Temporary Loc. Sp wpn sited at depth for temporary task.

Types of fire (direct)
GRAZING FIRE
 Fire approximately parallel to the gnd where the
centre of cone of fire does not rise above 1 mtr
fm the gnd.
ENFILADE FIRE
 Fire of a wpn fm a flk sited to sweep the tgt across
its front.
FRONTAL FIRE
 Fire delivered fm front to the length of the tgt.
OBLIQUE FIRE
 Fire delivered at angles between enfilade and
frontal, where the length of the beaten zone applied
to a proportion of the tgt.
PLUNGING FIRE
 Fire fm a high gnd to lower gnd or high gnd to high
gnd.

 Firing over ranges 700m.


 Firing into sharply rising gnd.
 Firing from high gnd to low gnd.
