BACKGR O UND O F TH E
STUDY
• In Tasmania, the financial problem in this report to the difficulties faced by
international students to maintain their basic expenditure (books,
accommodation, transportation, food, etc.) due to insufficient financial resources.
• In the Philippines, he mentions poverty of spirit, poor sense of nationalism and loss
of ethical mooring as some of the reasons. He believe that the lack of financial
literacy is also one of the major cause why pinoys are struggling with money.
• In Alabangpuro High School student’s needs support for financial problem, to they
get money to pay their projects and etc. students nowadays it is not easy to to find
money to pay their needs to the school.
Statement of the Problem
This research aimed to determined the relationship between the financial problem
of senior high school TVL students affecting their academic performance, school
year 2023-2024. Specifically it sought to answer the following questions:

1. What is the demographic profile of respondents in terms of?


a. Age
b. Sex

2. What are the factors interrelated within the family that affect the financial
problem of the students?

3. What are the intervention applied by the teacher to prevent the student from
their financial expenses?

• Senior High School Students of Alabangpuro High School

This chapter presents the related literature and studies


which covers the study of the impact of financial
problems to the motivation of the respondents where
part of several literature materials will be shown to fully
understand the research to be done.
Review of Related Literature

• Life Time Australia (2016), Vierstrate (2013) financial problem is a


situation where money worries are causing individual individual
stresses. Financial problem is the main cause of students enrolled in
college to dropout.
• Galiher (2006) and Darling (2005),Dubey (1984) they use GPA (grade
point average) to measure students performance for the particular
semester.
• Hill et al, (2004) and Woolfolk (2004) argued that the financial status
of parents do not only affect the academic performance.
Related Studies

• Reyes et.al 2015, Sabri and Macdonald (2010), Financial


management and financial literacy is way to pursue to have a
higher education to earn money for their families.
• Falahatiand Paim 2012,Ibrahim and Alqaydi 2013 financial
problem is referred to as inability to manage expenses.

Population of the Study
The study focused on the Grade 12 students of Alabangpuro High
School, School Year 2023-2024. The main of the research study is to
determine the Financial Problem of Senior High School students
Affecting their Academic Performance of Grade 12 of Alabangpuro
High School.
The respondents of this study are the 73 or 100% of Grade 12, who
were the main subject of the study.
