students to provide a multiple learning styles appeal
to visual, auditory and kinesthetic students.

• Media literacy is essential because it helps
people understand the messages that are
being communicated to them.
• It helps to understand how media works
• Teachers can help students analyze whether

arguments and proofs.
• It provides tools to help people develop
receptive media capability to critically analyze
messages, offers opportunities for learners to
broaden their experience of media, and helps
them develop generative media capability to
increase creative skills in making their own
media messages.
• It can help people recognize biases in the
media and how they may affect their
perception of an event or issue.
• It can also be used to learn about new ideas,
cultures, and perspectives that may not have
been previously considered.
• We can use the media we consume to inform
ourselves about what’s happening in our nation
and world.

• It educates people. Through television and radio
programs, people get to learn about health matters,
environmental conservation, and much more.
• People get the latest news in a very short time. Distance
is not a barrier. People get news daily through the media
and this keeps them updated on the happenings around
the world.
• People get to bring out their hidden talents. Through
media showcase their talents such as comedy, acting
and singing.
• Children’s knowledge increases. Children can learn
from quiz programs, animal programs and so on.
• Radio is convenient as people do get short news and
with a mobile phone one can access it.
