Research Plan
• Introduction and Primary research
In this slide I will include the key factors which I will then incorporate into my final
product. This slide will help me carry out my research which will lead to a better
product.
In my Primary Research I will carry out surveys and questionnaires and this will help me
complete the requirements of my target user. I will also observe existing products from
different shops and manufacturing companies which will give me new ideas for my
product and a better understanding of the market

Evaluation : I have decided to listen to the client review and I'm going to add feet in the
bottom of this design to make sure that nothing goes wrong and hopefully no accidents
happen.
Client review : it’s a very nice design and the acrylic makes it look good the phone holder on
the top is a very good add on, but it would have been better if you have added feet under to
make sure that its balanced and not risking anything fall from it.

SPECIFICATION DESCRIPTION - EVALUATION
Aesthetics • Traditional design The colours are of natural mahogany. It looks rich and attractive; however, it is
• Neutral colours the same design throughout making the lamp look boring. The lamp shade is a
deep red that matches with the textured mahogany. It fits the neutral colours
well.
Costs • Ranges from 50 – 120QAR It may be in the more expensive side as it is made of mahogany. However, I think
it will meet the price range.
Customer • It must appeal to teenagers/young adults from The design suits the age range as it is a sophisticated design and has attractive,
ages 15 – 20 rich colours
shape/size • Big enough to hold The size is both tall and large however it lacks curved edges/shapes.
• Curved shape
Safety • Smooth edges It has some sharp edges, eg. The lamp shade, the main body and the drawer. I
could have filed the edges off a bit so that it is safer and makes it more unique
Function • Provides a large area of light As it is tall it can cover a lot of areas with light
Material • Must be made of metal, wood or plastics The product uses all the materials. Lampshade – acrylic, stand – aluminum, and
the main body is made of mahogany wood
