listener by giving facts or information.

something about a particular subjects so they
should give useful information and focus on
facts.
FACTUAL TEXT
EXAMPLE:
Factual texts are news reports, interviews, recipes
records of history and instructions.
You often heard news report over the radio, or television
read them in the newspaper or hear what happened from
reliable sources. While reading or listening to a news
report, you are already activating your knowledge about
the information.

LITERARY TEXT
-are pieces of writing that tell a story or
entertain. They engage the reader/listener to
respond emotionally by using creative
language to paint pictures through words
(imagery).
-they include nondramatic works with or
without illustrations, published or unpublished.
LITERARY TEXT
EXAMPLES:
- literary texts are fiction, nonfiction,
manuscripts, poetry, dissertations,
theses, speeches, pamphlets, brochures
and advertisements.
CHARACTERISTIC OF
LITERARY TEXT
-include characters, setting,
plot(problem/solution), and sequence.
These characteristics help the reader
understand who is in the story, where and
when the story takes place, what happens in
the story and how the events happen.
PERSUASIVE TEXT VS. DISCUSSION TEXT

PERSUASIVE TEXT?
PERSUASIVE TEXT
-offers the opportunity to convince the
reader/ listener to adopt a particular
viewpoint or to believe in what the
writers is telling. It is designed to
prompt the reader or listener to take a
certain action.
DISCUSSION TEXT
-also known as Argumentative Text/
Content presents an issue an issue
surrounding a particular topic, usually
one that is debatable and open to
arguments. Discuss both sides of the
issue.
APPLICATION- LET US DISCOVER AND PERFORM!
DIRECTION: The teacher will group the students into four groups. Each group will have their
assigned topic which is one of the types of text. They will have different presentation based on their
topic.
Group 1- Factual Text (Science-Describe the reproductive parts in plants and their functions Week 4 S5LT-IIf-6)
-They will present the factual information’s about plants. They can use props like plants for the presentation.
Group 2- Literary Text (Music- Performs songs with the knowledge when to start, stop, repeat or end the song MU1FO -IIf -8)
This group will have a debate about same sex marriage. They will discuss both sides the negative and the
positive then conclude.
