An effective cover letter leaves a good
impression on prospective employers
because it showcases an applicant’s
skills, personality, and strengths. It
can even help an applicant succeed in
getting the job he/she is applying for.

A résumé is typically accompanied by


an application letter also called as a
“cover letter.” it is somehow similar to
a résumé, except that a resume is
presented in bulleted form while a
cover letter is in paragraph form.

1 Create a memorable introduction

• The employer must be


immediately impressed with your
cover letter and short-list you for
the next stage of the application
process.
2 Cite specific and organized info.

• How well you present yourself


through your cover letter can
help you create a good
impression on the employer.
3 Be clear and concise.

• Be straightforward. No need to
used flowery words. Clear and
concise purpose and
achievements.
4 Be honest in the info. provided.

• Do not falsify information just to


impress the employer. There is
nothing wrong is you lack
experience. Just be honest.
5 Be unique.

• Do not make a generic cover


letter that uses common phrases
and terms. Be yourself in writing.
6 Highlight relevant qualifications.

• Include only those that are


relevant to the job you are
applying for.
7 Do not reuse the same cover letter.

• Make sure to personalize each


cover letter as much as possible.

• To explain about a strength or


skill is an effective way to

1 Professional Correspondence

• It refers to any printed, written, or


electronic form of formal
communication that happens between
two people or among the members of
an organization.

to send information through formal
letters.

Letters sent within a company, between
different departments or units, or to
different branches of the same
company.
