This document contains a science test on standards in measuring distance, speed, motion and related concepts. It includes multiple choice, fill in the blank, and true/false questions. Some questions ask students to calculate speed, distance or time given values. The test aims to assess students' understanding of key metrics like distance, speed, reference points and tools for measurement. It provides the answers at the end to check understanding.

TOPIC: DISTANCE OF OBJECTS IN MOTION Distance of Objects in Motion You have learned in the previous lesson how to tell if an object is moving or not. We found out that motion may be defined as change of an object’s position as caused by force. When there is movement there is motion. We also learned that the reference point determines the position of an object. Now in this lesson you will learn how to measure how far the object moved. Distance is an important factor in measuring motion. You can tell how fast or slow we are moving depending on the distance that you are taking. Distance is the measure of how far or near two points are from one another. It can be measured using different ways such as time, landmark, or body parts but it is inaccurate. There are appropriate tools and ways to measure distance so that you can tell whether an object is far or near. Distance should always be exact, measured accurately, and based on a standard unit of measurement. That is why we need to use measuring tools such as the ruler, meter stick, tape measure, measuring wheel and ultrasonic distance measurer. The metric system is the world standard for measurement. The standard unit of measurement used for distance or length is meter. Add prefix kilo for distance that is quite far. Prefixes like deci, centi and milli are used if the length is quite short. A. Complete each sentence. Choose your answer inside the box.
The change in position with respect to a reference
point is called (1) . Through a Tape measure (2)__________________one can tell whether an object has moved or not. Distance (3) is the measure of how far or near two Meter points are from one another. A Standard unit of measure makes it easier for scientists and other Speed people to understand each other’s data. (4)____ Reference point is the standard unit of measurement used for distance or length. Distance is measured by using tools such as meterstick, (5)_________ Motion measuring wheel and ultrasonic distance measure. B. Read and Solve the following.
