ABSTRACT
 This brief overview of my 30 days internship at CHIRIPAL POLYFILM PVT. LTD.During
this period of my internship, I got to learned a lot about industry works. I got to get first
hand experience to go to meetings and take some discissions on my own, learn about
purchasing, delivering and commissioning this all made my professionally personality
evolve at new level. My contribution was appreciated by the team. The career path I would
be selecting for myself is quite influenced from my internship as I have had a great
opportunity to practically learned about how the system runs inside the industry in much of
aspects. I have tried my level best to make it meaningful by reflecting my works at the
chiripal polyfilm ltd . Also, I have summarized my overall experience, with my learning and
challenges faced as an intern.
ABOUT COMPANY
 Chiripal Poly Films is an Indian leading manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions, producing Biaxially
Oriented Poly Propylene (BOPP) films, Biaxially-Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate (BOPET) films, and
PET resin chips. It was founded in August 2009 and started production operations in January 2012 by
installing its first production line of BOPP films with German technology in Ahmedabad (western India), with
easy access to Mundra, Mumbai, and Pipalav sea ports.
 Currently, Chiripal has three films production lines; two of BOPP and one line of BOPET, with total
production capacity of 118,000 MTPA. In this short tenure, it has established a good reputation in terms of
products, quality and services; not only in the domestic market but internationally as well. The state of the art
high-performance lines enhances its capability to fulfill customers’ needs and fosters the development of new
customized films for different applications and tailor-made products.
 Chiripal recently expanded backwards by entering the PET resin manufacturing business. With 220,000 MTPA
production capacity, the state of the art PET resin plant is capable to produce bottle, textile, and film grade
chips. It ensures timely supply of raw material to the BOPET film plant, and gives the opportunity to serve
other plastic segments such as water & carbonated drinks packaging, and textile processing.
 Chiripal has high-quality standards certifications on Quality Management Systems and food contact packaging.
It is certified by AIB, BRC rated AA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
 Chiripal Poly Films is part of Chiripal Group, a multi-faceted business conglomerate founded in 1972. Chiripal
Group has a current annual turnover of $700 million USD from various businesses including textiles,
petrochemicals, flexible packaging, education, and infrastructure.
ABOUT AHMEDABAD UNIT
 Chiripal Poly Films is a leading manufacturer of packaging solutions.
It produces BOPP & BOPET films for printing, laminating, labeling,
and PET resin chips. It started production operations in January 2012 by
installing its first production line of BOPP films in Ahmedabad, India.
 Currently, it has two manufacturing plants in Ahmedabad and
Hyderabad. The Ahmedabad plant is equipped with two BOPP lines,
one BOPET-line, a 2.5-meter off-line coater, and four metallizers. It
also has a manufacturing unit of PET resin chips capable of producing
bottle (pre-forms), textile, and film grade resin.
 The Hyderabad plant has a 10, 4-meter BOPP line and one metallizer
with a production capacity of 55000 MTPA, and aims to expand by
installing a BOPET line. The objective is to increase production
capacities up to 500,000 MTPA in the flexible packaging segment and
600,000 MTPA in the rigid packaging segment.
 Chiripalhas high-quality standards certifications in Quality
Management Systems and food contact packaging. It is certified by

 BOPP FILMS
 Biaxial Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) films are manufactured out of polypropylene by casting into film
and further stretching it into the machine and cross directions. The BOPP films have excellent clarity and
smooth surface, good chemical and abrasion resistance. Selected BOPP films also provide resistance to
UV light. These films are preferred to achieve good moisture barrier.
 Chiripal Poly Films offers wide range of BOPP films in transparent, metallized, cavitated white/pearlised,
crystal clear, matt, solid white.
 CHIRIPAL'S BOPP FILMS SPECIAL FEATURES
• In 5-Layers BOPP, we can produce label grade films with varying gloss and density which impact on
yield. We can also produce films with very high heat seal strength (> 1000 gm/25mm).
• Our Hi-Res metallising machines provide uniform deposition of aluminum on the film substrates and
resulting uniformity in barrier properties.
• Optical density can be produced from 1.8 to 3.0 for metallized OPP film
 Chiripal Poly Films ltd makes food grade BOPP and BOPET films in accordance with EC and FDA
regulations. Specific document and material safety data sheet for the film grades are available on request.

WEEKLY TASK AND ACTIVITY
 In my 6 weekly internship at chiripal polyfilm private limited there were many different types
of task and activities given to me from week 1 The different tasks and activities given to me
where according to days wise.
 Week 1 : in the first week I got my documentation verified after that I got my documents
verified after that I got an interview after that there I got an interview after that there was
safety training full company visit department was alloweted and after that I introduced myself
in the department and in the last I talked a little and audit is come in audit I have no
permission to entry in plant so I am in department for few days im in bopp film line plant
Week 2 :In the second week, during the daily shutdown of 2 to 3 hours,
I disassembled the bad stretching roll and installed a new roll,
till then the old roll was not repaired, after that the nip roll of
MDO was changed and oiling was done in pure MDO or pending
work. finished off

Week 3 : In the third week, changed the swib roll in the area
, cleaned the extruder barrel in the water bath, next day due
to problem in the swib roll, put it upside down and checked
by taking proper measurement, changed the housing of PRS
trim roll, took pure TDO. The blower in the chain was repaired
and the filter was changed or this week the main extruder was
turned on in the gear box but no problem was found or the
next day the gear box broke or there was a 1 line shutdown on
15/02.
 Week 4 : In the fourth week, I disassembled the gear box and tried to find the problem. After
looking at everything, I prepared to send the gear box to Ghaziabad because this type of gear
box was not available in India. I sent the gear for temporary repair. Made extra parts of the box
ready for cleaning due to line off, took all the machines for maintenance, opened all the parts
and cleaned all the parts, disassembled the entire chain, all this work took 15 days

 Week 5 : holiday

 Week 6: In the fifth week, I changed the cooling water pipe in the TDO gear box, cleaned the
three screw pump, maintained the leakage of the pneumatic cylinder, replaced the motor of the
machine and started it after installing the belt, changed all the bearings of the trim roll and ran
the repair of the crane motor. Changed the direction of TDO, repaired the chain cover of TDO,
cleaned the melt pump of main extruder because the melt choke was getting clogged, and
repaired the tube type heat exchanger.
