• Students will use an official GRC account to sign up for the official online
platform.
• Screen names and aliases are not accepted during the live sessions.
• Students should use appropriate language and tone during online sessions.

4. Respect and consideration for other students should be observed all the time.
5. Sarcasm, humor, and/or posting of jokes are not allowed inside the platform.
6. Issues of privacy and information sharing outside of class is strictly
prohibited.

During Online Classes:
• In online classes, students must log in at least five (5) minutes before the designated
time. Students will wait for the faculty to be accepted into the platform.
• All students wear presentable clothes during online classes. Proper dress code is
strongly observed.
• All participants will always have the microphone on and off when classes are
conducted. A microphone will turn ON once permitted by the faculty and turn OFF
once done.

During Online Classes:
4. Students must signify their intention to speak using available icons or simply raise their
hands to ask the faculty permission to speak. In this manner, speaking simultaneously among
participants will be avoided.
5. Sharing of screens by students must obtain approval from the faculty, the screen that
contains personal information is advised to close before sharing screen.
6. Students are encouraged to use the chat feature of the platform for conversations relevant to
the topic. Off-topic exchanges are strongly discouraged.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is attempts to analyze and understand the life
and works of Dr. Jose Rizal in relation to Filipino nationalism. It
will focus on historicizing the legacies of Rizal which includes
critical issues and controversies in his life and heroism. This
course closes with the discussion on the effects of Jose Rizal’s
work to Philippine social reality.
COURSE OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, the students must be able to:
• Define critical events in Jose Rizal’s life from childhood through his early
schooling, local and foreign studies, travel abroad, arrest and deportation to
Dapitan, trial and execution.
• Describe the role of the life and works of Dr. Jose Rizal in the evolution of
the Philippines as a nation.
• Compare the various structures that defined the historical, social, political,
and global context shaping the life and works of Jose Rizal.
COURSE OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, the students must be able to:
4. Distinguish a sense of nationhood through uploading of editorial cartoons or

caricature or real-life situation that promotes love of country.
5. Create a showcase of Jose Rizal’s life, works, and ideals using a variety of
media such as music, video, power point presentation, movie, posters, collage,
etc.
