Humanitarianism is an active belief in the value of human

provide assistance to other humans, in order to improve
the conditions of humanity for moral, altruistic, and logical

ABDUL SATTAR EDHI
Abdul Sattar Edhi (1928-2016)
~ Abdul Sattar Edhi was a Pakistani Philanthropist, ascetic, and
humanitarian who founded the Edhi Foundation, which runs the
world's largest volunteer ambulance network along with various
homeless shelters, animal shelters, rehabilitation centers, and
orphanages across Pakistan

~ Following his death, his son Faisal Edhi took over as head of the
Edhi Foundation

MANDELA
Nelson Mandela (1918-2013)

Nelson Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary,


political leader and philanthropist who served as president of
South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was the country's first black
head of state and the first elected in fully representative
democratic election. His government focused on dismantling the
legacy of apartheid by tackling institutionalized racism and
fostering racial reconciliation. Ideologically an African nationalist
and socialist, he served as the president of the African National
Congress (ANC) party from 1991 to 1997

~ After living in Skopje for eighteen years, she moved to Ireland
and then to India, where she lived for most of her life
~ Teresa received a number of honors, including the 1962 Roman
Magsaysay Peace Prize and 1979 Nobel Peace Prize

speech. The third Monday of January is a U.S federal holiday to
commemorate his birthday

Atatürk was a turkish field marshal, revolutionary statesman, author,
and the founding father of the Republic of Turkey, servinh as its first
president from 1923 until his death in 1938
~ He undertook sweeping progressive reforms, which modernized
turkey into a secular, industrial nation.
~ Ideologically a secularist and nationalist, his politics and theorists
became known as kemalism
~ Due to his military and political accomplishments, Atatürk is regarded
as one of the most important political leader of the 20th century

~The Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF)
is the coordinator of private sector efforts in disaster

rural areas. PKKK started in 2003 and was registered
with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 2005.

of December the day the United Nation General
Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). 10th of
December is an opportunity to reaffirm the
importance of human rights in re-building the
world we want, the need for global solidarity as well
as our interconnectedness and shared humanity
