Klamath Falls, OR strengths and
opportunities of it.
Activity 1 Observations
• This classroom had a SMART board, Chromebooks for every student, and headphones.

• The SMART board is the most utilized and necessary tool as it allows students to
visualize the instruction they are hearing and work collaboratively with the teacher and
their peers.

• One of my observations was the seating arrangements for students and how it affected
their productivity, but it has since been rearranged and functions better now.
• Where? Stearns Elementary School, Klamath
Falls, OR

• Who? Asia Bridges, 2nd grade teacher.

Activity 2
• What? What are the most important devices to
use in the classroom and how you use them.
This teacher frequently utilizes the document camera in
addition to the others previously mentioned, she likes being
able to do the work with the students.

Activity 2 Her most frequently used technology is her Chromebooks,

as she likes playing reading and math games to supplement
Observations instruction, as well as using Google Classroom for students
to collaborate.

Behaviors in her classroom make technology use limited,

but when they do have set times to use it they are productive
and enjoy it.
Activity 3

• Where? Stearns Elementary School,

Klamath Falls, OR

• Who? Stacey Ramirez, Vice Principal

• What? How new technology is

introduced, and how tech-forward the
school is.
Activity 3 Observations

• The school has a tech coordinator who handles many internal IT problems and
ordering, but the district office is contacted for most things.

• Most training on new technology is internal, but if system updates are occurring, IT
will reach out.

• The schools biggest struggle is funding and being able to support students with extra
needs. They do have newer devices, but many students could benefit from assistive
devices, and often these end up being paid for by the teachers.
