What is LMT

 LMT: Local Maintenance Terminal

 A network management tool for the operation and

maintenance on a single base station.
LMT Application Scenario
eNodeB Commissioning Flow
 The commissioning flow
is divided into five steps:
 LMT log base station
 Entire table Configuration
 Transmission parameter
configuration as required
 Make sure whether LMT
can take over base station
 LMT log-out base station
Launch LMT

 LMT can run only if jdk1.6.0 is running.

 Jdk1.6.0 can be downloaded from www.sun.com
Launch LMT
 Double-click EOMS.jar file
Login Mode
 Offline Login:
 Modify the configuration
on PC Client and save the
data as XML file
 This configuration mode
does not affect the B8200
operation
 The offline configuration
requires a given local
configuration file
 Online Login:
 Configure the foreground
ZDB table of B8200
directly
 The configuration data
under this configuration
mode will take effect
immediately
LMT Version
 LMT’s version must match the eNodeB’s version.
eNodeB Version Update
 If LMT’s version doesn’t match the eNodeB’s
version, use the right LTM log eNodeB and update
the eNodeB’s version.
eNodeB Version Update
 LMT connects to base station, click “Version
Management”
eNodeB Version Download
eNodeB Version Download
 Right-click in the right pop-up view; then select
“Download” menu item .
eNodeB Version Download
 Find the path which saves version package, select
platform version and product version package.
eNodeB Version Download
 Click “Open” and wait for the version package to be
downloaded to base station, dialog box displays the status
of version package downloading.
eNodeB Version Download
eNodeB Version Download
 Click “Confirm” and the status of version package
is “Initial”.
eNodeB Version Activation
 Hold down “Ctrl” and in the meanwhile select both
platform and product package, and then right-click
eNodeB Version Activation
 Click the fast configuration table path selection
button at the bottom right-hand corner.
eNodeB Version Activation
 Click “Confirm” and the following dialog box
shows it is on the operation of fast configuration
table Configuration.
eNodeB Version Activation
 When the following dialog box pops up, the
activation of version package is successful. Then
click “OK”, the base station shall reset and LMT
shall logout automatically at this moment.
Entire Table Configuration
 There is no data in the eNodeB database under
the condition of eNodeB commissioning, so when
LMT accesses, the user is required to make sure
whether to configure entire table.
Load Configuration File
LMT Main Window
Transmission Parameter Configuration Flow
 Currently the transmission
parameters consist of
 GE Parameter
 Global Port Parameter
 IP Parameter
 Static Route Parameter
 OMC Parameter
Transmission Parameter Configuration Flow
 Currently the transmission parameters consist of
IP parameter and OMCB parameter, while other
parameters would be decided whether to
configure according to the specific situation.
 Configure global port parameter configuration if
use VLAN transmission.
 Configure static route parameter if base station IP
and OMC service IP are not in the same network
segment.
GE Parameter Configuration
 After entire table configuration, there is one piece
of default GE parameter record in base station,
which is available for adding, deleting and
modifying.
GE Parameter Configuration
 Click “Modify” if necessary, then the following
dialog box pops up .
Global Port Parameter Configuration
 There is one piece of
default global port
parameter record
which is available for
adding and deleting.
 VLAN ID is invalid
value in the default
record.
 The parameter can be
configured by doing
the operation of
adding.
 Right-click “Add”, the
configuration interface
pops up
IP Parameter Configuration
 The parameters consist of base station IP
address, subnet mask and gateway IP address
Static Route Parameter Configuration
 The parameters consist of network destination,
subnet mask, next hop gateway address
OMC Parameter Configuration
 Operation maintain
IP should be kept
identical with the
corresponding IP
address of bear
loading operation
maintain channel
IPID.
 OMCB channel
type should be
SIGIP.

assigned at the same time.
 Type command “ping <PDN>” to check if UE can
access normally.
