Design
 It involves the development of product as per the
specifications and functionally sound.
 Design process includes the methods of manufacture also
 Now a days to make these process simpler computers are used
– CAD ,CAM etc…
 Both are important parts of life cycle of a product
 In short design can be said as concept part and manufacturing
is called as action part in the life of a product.

Problem definition
Market analysis and information gathering
Direct search – directly from the costumer
Indirect approach – form public sources eg. Magazines
Market search should be done in systematic and objective
manner collecting all the details of the product
