GEOMET

RIC
CONSTRUCTIONS
While it is true that colors make the world look
vibrant, shapes fundamentally speak of space and
life.

 Identify the different geometric terms and

figures;

 Project lines, angles and polygons;

 Follow procedural steps in the

performance of instrumental drawing of
some geometric figures.
GEOMETRIC TERMS
AND FIGURES
Every special form of
whatever kind of structured
design is an outright result
of the exploration and
combination of an array of
geometric features.
Hence, understanding
geometric figures makes
relevance.
P O I N T, L I N E ,
ANGLE, TRIANGLE,
T R I S E C T, P O LY G O N S
among others are some of the
familiar words associated with
geometrical constructions.
Some of these figures have identified
types or kinds.
LINE, for instance, can be categorically
lined-up as follows:

IN INSTRUMENTAL
DRAWING
Geometric Constructions
■ Tri-dimensional forms often times
create a more glamorous effect and
impact.
■ Geometric solids are one of those
exceptionally line-up as their effects
are brilliant and incomparable.
■ Out of the basic forms,
they create the impact of
having the “soul and
flesh” that spice-up the
aesthetic and
functionality of a certain
form.
GROUP REPORTING
Each group will be given envelop
with pictures of geometric solids
inside.
Use the pictures to define each.

Read and follow the instructions

with understanding.
REGULAR POLYHEDRON
a three-dimensional
solid which consists
of a collection of
polygons, usually
joined at their
edges.
Tetrahedron
A convex
polyhedron
consisting of four
triangular faces
Hexahedron
any
polyhedron
with six faces
octahedron
polyhedron with
eight faces,
twelve edges,
and six vertices.
Dodecahedron
Composed of
twelve regular
pentagonal faces
Icosahedron
a polyhedron
with
20 faces
CYLINDER
- uniquely shows a circular
base and whose sides are either
vertical or inclined.
Upright Oblique
cylinder cylinder

cylinder
OBLIQUE PENTAGONAL
PRISM RIGHT PRISM

PRISMS
A 3D solid figure with two parallel
faces, called bases,
and lateral flat faces which are
rectangles in a right prism, and are
parallelograms in an oblique prism.

PENTAGONAL PRISM TRUNCATED PRISM

SPHERE
A perfectly round
geometrical object in
three-dimensional
space.
Any point of which is
equally distant from
common center within.
Full sphere Half sphere

Three-quarter sphere
Pyramids

solid figures of which the base can either

be square, rectangular, triangular or
polygonal in shape
CONE
geometrical solid with a
circular base and with sides
tapering to a point called
vertex.

Frustum of a cone

Truncated
