What is Dual goals in a timely manner, Alvin ISD and
Alvin Community College offers qualified
Enrollment? students the opportunity to earn a high
school diploma and an Associates of Arts
Degree in General Studies at the same
time.

The Dual Degree program is a rigorous

program that will require extra time and
dedication. Interested students will be
given the opportunity to enroll in these
courses during their 8th grade course
selection. Students can also contact
their high school counselor or ACC
Advisor for more information and to
develop a degree plan.
 To participate in dual credit courses, you
What is TSIA2? must first take the Texas Success
Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2).
TSIA2 is a state-approved test to assess
reading, writing, and math required to
take college level coursework.

Students particularly interested in taking

academic college courses with ACC while
in high school through the Dual Credit
program are required to take this exam
prior to course selection. Your score will
determine the courses you are eligible to
take. Students should visit with the ACC
Advisor after testing to review their
results.

How do I register for follow these steps:

TSIA2? 1. Complete the Apply Texas online

application for ACC.
2. Take the Pre-Assessment Activity
(PAA) Practice for Accuplacer.
3. Pay for the TSIA2 according to your
campus payment options.
4. Get the registration form from your
campus, complete it, and turn it in to
your campus TSI Coordinator.
5. Once the TSI Coordinator signs off on
the form, you will be given further
details about testing.
