Project – Scope of work – DR Migration

• Migrate the SAP ECC DR systems from existing

environment to Azure Cloud
• SAP Production Server
• Azure Site Recovery – DATA Disk.
• DR Drill – Failover activity - Quarterly
Assumptions and Requirement
Assumptions for Migration
Assuming the existing DB server belongs to on-premise or on-cloud.
The existing DB is a single tenant server – running both the APP and DB in the same VM.
No current archiving strategy for the existing Production Server.
Backups are stored at the DISK level and maintained as per the default retention policy.
No major Network issue from On-Premise to Cloud and if any bottleneck, customer will take care.
Assuming there is no restriction on the Data flow in between the DC and DR environments.
Requirement for Migration
Existing server access to initiate the Azure Site Recovery process in the existing environment.
Azure login credentials are at the initial level for setting up the Azure cloud environment.
Need to know the Replication policy for the Data from DC to DR.
The Azure VMs you replicate need outbound connectivity.
DR Setup Configuration - AZURE cloud

1.The Site Recovery Mobility service extension is automatically installed on the VM.
2.The extension registers the VM with Site Recovery.
3.Continuous replication begins for the VM. Disk writes are immediately transferred to the cache storage account in the source location.
4.Site Recovery processes the data in the cache and sends it to the target storage account or to the replica managed disks.
5.After the data is processed, crash-consistent recovery points are generated every five minutes. App-consistent recovery points are
generated according to the settings specified in the replication policy.
6.Perform test failover for the mock drill.
DR Setup - Failover

 When initiating a failover, the VM for DR will be create in the target resource group, target virtual network, target
subnet, and in the target availability set.
 During a failover, any recovery point can be use.
