 OVERVIEW

• As every technology do, saving

time, the barcode, QR code, scanner
also save time and reduces written
complications for human and
increases productivity. Applications
on these technology is based on our
usual works.
 BARCODE
What is a Barcode?
• A barcode, consisting of bars and
spaces, is a machine-readable
representation of numerals and
characters. Today, stripes as shown
below on packages of products sold at
supermarkets, convenience stores and
other stores are ubiquitous. These are
barcodes. A barcode consists of bars and
spaces of varying width that can be read
with an optical barcode scanner.
 BARCODE
What is the formation?
• A typical barcode looks like a
combination of light and widen black
lines contain a specific & unique
number for the product mark on.
• It contain 12 numbers from which first
three signifies the country belongs
to(sometimes region) and another three
denotes the organization and the rest for
their product vastness- signifies the
company product.
 BARCODE
How to get it?
• To get a barcode, a person has to
contact with the GS1 - it is the
organization which allocate barcode for
their product worldwide- which provide
the barcode at some cost.
• GS1 operates in India also, as GS1India
which allocate barcode for companies in
India, barcode start with “890” it’s the
number India got to specifies product in
Indian subcontinent.
 BARCODE
What it contains? What it doesn’t contain?
• A barcode only contain the numbers • A barcode can not contain any data
which specify many things about the other then text, such as it can not
product . contain images, videos, sound.
• Barcode consist of light and widen black
lines which specifies the number.
 BARCODE SCANNER
What is a Barcode Scanner?
• A barcode reader is an optical scanner that
can read printed barcodes, decode the data
contained in the barcode and send the data
to a computer. Like a flatbed scanner, it
consists of a light source, a lens and a light
sensor for translating optical impulses into
electrical signals.
 BARCODE SCANNER
How it works?
• More specifically, the sensor in the
barcode scanner detects the reflected light
from the illumination system (the red
light) and generates an analog signal that
is sent to the decoder. The decoder
interprets that signal, validates the barcode
using the check digit, and converts it into
text.
 BARCODE SCANNER
After scanning, what?
• After scanning a barcode, all the data
which barcode consist of will be printed
automatically to the place mentioned,
like excel sheet.
• The data then helps the company in
maintaining a log of product and
demand.
 QR CODE
What is a QR code?
• A QR code works similarly to
barcodes. Each QR code consists black
squares and dots which represent
different pieces of information. When
scanned, the unique pattern on the
barcode translates into human-readable
data. This transaction happens in seconds.
 QR CODE
What it contains?
• A QR code can contain all types of data
which a barcode can’t, such as images,
sounds, videos, etc which makes it a
advanced version of barcode.
• A typical QR code consist of black squares
and dots and has no specific formation
which denotes something until it scanned.
But it has at least 3square at the
edges(sometimes 2-exception).
 QR CODE
How to get it?
• Getting a QR code is not hard or
chargeable as Barcode, a QR code can Task 1
easily generated by an individual by a
specific QR code generating software.
• Let’s see how to create a QR code easily
which contains some text. The task can be Task 2
divided into three task- opening up a QR
code generating software, putting details

Task 3
of QR code, generating QR code.
Task 1
Opening the software

Now, selecting the “free text” option to create a

QR code which contain some text.
Task 2
Input the information in QR code

On the right hand panel, the QR code is ready.

You can get your QR code in any colour and
you can add a logo and can customize many
Task 3
Downloading the QR code

Now, you can download your QR code by

giving it a filename.
QR CODE SCANNER
What is a QR code scanner?
• A QR code scanner works same as a
barcode scanner, it interpret the QR
code by scanning it via any scanner such
as smartphone camera, and displays the
information.
• A QR code which is containing any
“URL”, after scanning the QR code via
any scanner, it transfer the user directly
to the website or given location.
