Commerce and Industry in the Philippines when she
was raped by a former President of the Chamber in
1996

The case remained at the trial court level for eight

defendant in 2005 on grounds that “an accusation of
RAPE rape can be made with facility”.

In 2010, Vertido elevated her case to the CEDAW, and
