Indians of America

Indians
 Indians is the common name for the
indigenous population of America.
The name arose from the erroneous
idea of ​the first European
navigators (Christopher Columbus
and others) of the late 15th century,
who considered the transatlantic
lands they discovered to be India
Tipi
 Some tribes were nomadic, some
settled. Nomadic tribes lived on the
plains and moved from one place
to another. They lived in a «tipi» -
this is such a hut made of
branches , covered with animal
skins. It was easy to disassemble
and move to another location.
Hunting
They were mainly engaged in
hunting bison, getting meat and
skins, from which they sewed
clothes and made a cover for the
tipi.
Canoe
Before the arrival of
Europeans, the Indians did
not invent the wheel and
traveled on foot or by canoe
on rivers. A canoe is a light
Indian boat.
 Each tribe had its own clothing.
Men, in addition to loincloths,
could wear leggings, deerskin
shirt or raincoat. The women
Clothing wore skirts made of deerskin
and leggings, in some tribes
they wore ponchos, dresses or
tunics. Clothes were decorated
beads, bones, shells.
