FUNDAMENTAL
POSITIONS OF FEET
IN FOLKDANCE
First Position:
form a V-shape
with your feet.
Second Position: step
one foot sideward to
the right. Then, your
feet should be parallel to
each other and should be
shoulder width apart.
Third Position:
Bring the heel of
one foot to touch
the in step of the
other foot.
Fourth Position:
Slide one foot in
front of the other
to walk strike.
Fifth Position: Slide
one foot in front, and
bring the heel of one
foot to touch the toe
of the other.

Directions: I will divide the class into three
groups. Each group is given 2 minutes to
practice the proper execution of the
fundamental feet positions. After 2 minutes,
they will come in front and show it to class.

move sideward.
