Aim and Objective

1. Pharmacognostical study of Saraca asoca (Roxb.) Willd and Mimusops elengi L. fruits.

Morphological study
Microscopical study
Estimation of foreign matters
Loss on drying
Ash value
Extractive value
Fluorescence analysis of fruit powder
Extractions of crude drugs
Phytochemical screening
Thin Layer chromatography
2. Extraction, Fractionation and Characterization of fraction by Chromatograhic
techniques (GC.MS).

3. Evaluation of anti-stress effects of fractions

-Evaluation of neurobehaviour parameters-

Effect on motor coordination using rota rod

Effect on behaviour using elevated plus maze

-Evaluation of Immunomodulatory parameters

Footpad reaction test

Heamoglutination titre

4. Evaluation of Anti-oxidant activity

3
Objectives covered in past 6 months

Macroscopic Characteristics

Mature fruits are dark red while young fruits are light green in colour.

The ovoid to oblong fruit is up to 35mm long and 16mm wide

They are taste like dates but to be more dry and deed are dark brown in color
