PSIKOLOGI PENDIDIKAN

PENGANTAR
DEFINISI PSIKOLOGI

 Psychology is the science of the activities of individual in


relation to the environment (Woodworth).
 Psychology is the positive science of behavior (Watson).
 Psychology is the science of human behavior and
experience (Cruze).
 Psychology deals with the responses to any and every
kind of situation that life presents. Responses or behavior
include all forms of processes, adjustments, activities,
and experiences of the organism (Charles E. Skinner).
DEFINISI PENDIDIKAN

 Education can be defined as the process of imparting or


acquiring knowledge and habits through instruction or
study.
 The process of bringing desirable change into the
behavior of human beings.
 The process of receiving or giving systematic instruction,
especially at a school or university.
DEFINISI PSIKOLOGI PENDIDIKAN

 Educational psychology has been described as a discipline


uniquely focused upon “the systematic study of the
individual in context” (Berliner & Calfee, 1996, p. 6).

 Educational psychology focuses on the application of


psychology to the understanding of learners and the
learning environment (Handbook of Psychology Vol. 7 –
Educational Psychology, 2003, p.17)

 Educational psychology is a branch of psychology


concerned especially with increasing the efficiency of
learning by applying psychological knowledge about
learning and motivation to practices and procedures in
school (Wolman: A dictionary of behavioral science)

 Educational Psychology is the discipline concerned with


teaching and learning processes; applies the methods and
theories of psychology and has its own as well (Woolfolk,
1995).
DEFINISI PSIKOLOGI PENDIDIKAN

 Educational psychology is that branch of psychology,


which deals with teaching and learning. It takes its
meaning from education, social process, and from
psychology, a behavioral science (Skinner).

 Penerapan prinsip-prinsip psikologi dalam lingkup


pendidikan sehingga proses belajar mengajar dapat
dilekukan secara optimal (Slavin, 2006).

 Suatu studi yang sistematik tentang perkembangan


individu dalam lingkup pendidikan (Gage & Berliner, 1998).

 Dasar pertimbangan penetapan tujuan?
