• The preposition 里
• …… 里 (...... lǐ) is a preposition.
• Unlike in English, this preposition goes after the noun in Chinese.
• For example:
• In the programme
• 节目里
- The book is in the schoolbag.
书在书包里。

- I attend a lesson in the school.

我在学校里上课。

- I am very happy in my heart.

我的心里很开心。

- They are all in the movie.

他们都在电影里。

- She is not in the programme.

她不在节目里。
Grammar
• Do not use 是 if it is followed by a verb-adjective.
• For a simple statement such as ‘ the programme is very good’, it is correct to
say 节目很好 , but wrong to say 节目是很好。

- The movie is very interesting.

电影很有意思（有趣）。

- The pop song is not bad.

流行歌曲还不错。

- This dish is very delicious.

这道菜很好吃。
你一般上网做什么？
nǐ yī bān shàng wǎng zuò shén me

Grammar
• 一… 就…
• 一 and 就 are both followed by verbs, and one action occurs immediately
after the other.
• If the subjects of the two verbs are the same, you don’t need to repeat the
subject for the second one.
• For example:
• 他一回家就把作业写完了
• As soon as he got home, he did his homework.
- As soon as we arrived in Beijing, we went to the
Great Wall.
我们一到北京就去了长城。

- As soon as she saw her sister, she smiled.

她一看到他的妹妹就笑了。

- As soon as he get home, he watch TV soap.

他一到家就看电视剧。

- As soon as my friend is free, I call her..

我的朋友一有空，我就打电话给
她。

- As soon as he heard the news, he started writing

the blog.
他一听到新闻就写了博客。
Grammar
• 对…（没）有兴趣
• Try to use this in addition to 爱 and 喜欢 when talking about likes and
dislikes, as variety is always better than repetition.
• For example:
• 我对学习中文很有兴趣。
• I am very interested in learning Chinese.
- We are interested in watching movies, but not
very interested in watching TV soap.
我们对看电影有兴趣，但是对看电视
不太有兴趣（没什么兴趣）。

- She has no interest in reading e-book, but very

interested in reading printed book.
她对看电子书没兴趣，但是对看纸质
书很有兴趣。

- He is very interested in social medias, but no

interest in watching the news.
他对社交媒体很有兴趣，但是对看新
闻没兴趣。

- My younger brother likes watching football

games very much, but not very interested in
watching basketball games
