MULTI-METER OR MULTI-

TESTER
MULTI-METER Or MULTI-TESTER’– Measuring
Instruments That Is Used To Determine The Amount Of
Voltage, Current And Resistance Of A Circuit Or
Components
It compose of:
• Voltmeter-used to measure the amount of Voltage
• Ohmmeter- used to measure the amount of Resistance
• Ammeter- used to measure the amount of Current
TYPES OF MULTI-METER

• ANALOG MULTI-METER-uses graduated scale to determine the amount

of voltage, current and resistance of a circuit or component.

PARTS OF ANALOG MULTI-METER

• 1. Graduated Scaled - is used to identify the amount of

voltage, current, and resistance of the circuit.
• 2. Meter Pointer- is a movable part of the multi-tester
which reflects or indicates the reading.
• 3. Zero Corrector Adjustment Screw- is design for
calibrating the needle of the tester if it is not located in
the infinity sign and not ranging the zero value.
4. Zero Ohms Adjustment-it Is Adjusted The Pointer At
0Ω In The Upper Right Of The Scale By Connecting The
Metal Tips of The Test Probes.
5. Range Selector- Is The Selector Or Indicator Of The
Function Of The Multi-meter. (Voltmeter, Ohmmeter And
Ammeter)
6. Test Probes.- Is Compose Of Two Test Prod, Positive
(Color Red), And Negative Test Prod (Color Black, Serve
As The Input Section Of The Multi-meter.
DIGITAL MULTI-METER- Uses Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Or Seven
Segment Display, Measured Values Are Displayed In Numeric Or Digits.
• A Digital Multimeter Consists Of Four Main Parts:
• LCD Screen: Used To Display Measurements.
• Buttons: Used To Select Functions.
• Range Selector Switch: Used To Choose The Type Of
Measurement.
• Test Probes: Used To Connect Test Leads
