DEFINITION OF READING
Reading is a process that is carried out and used by readers to get
messages, which the writer wants to convey through the medium of
words/written language
Purpose of reading the main goal in reading is to find and obtain
information, including content, understand the meaning of reading,
the meaning is closely related to our purpose, or our intensity in
reading. Here we list some of the important ones:
• ·Sensory Aspect
o The sensory aspect is the ability to understand written symbols.
• ·Perceptual Aspect
o The perceptual aspect is the ability to interpret what is seen as a symbol.
• ·Schematic Aspect
o The schemata aspect is the ability to connect written information with existing
knowledge structures.
• ·Aspects of Thinking,
o The aspect of thinking is the ability to make evaluations of what has been
learned, this ability is different for each individual.
• ·Affective Aspect.
The affective aspect is the aspect relating to the reader's interest in reading

The first type of reading is
skimming. This type of reading
is often referred to as core
reading, namely reading
activities carried out to

namely scanning reading.
Slightly different from
skimming, reading scanning is
done by crossing sentences in
the text quickly to get certain
information.
3.Intensive
Intensive reading is also one of the types of
reading that has special techniques.
Usually, intensive reading is much more
time consuming than skimming and
scanning reading.
4.extensive
The last types of reading are extensive
reading. Extensive reading places more
emphasis on fluency than accuracy. This
reading technique is usually done for fun
or entertainment.
