 Ray Bradbury was an American writer born on August 22,
1920, in Waukegan, Illinois.
 Bradbury was most famous for his science fiction and fantasy
writing, which included popular books like Fahrenheit 451 and
The Martian Chronicles.
 Bradbury was a productive author, publishing more than 500
works.
Biography  Bradbury was a famous advocate for education and literacy.
 Bradbury received numerous awards and honors, including the
National Medal of Arts and a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation.
 Ray Bradbury died on June 5, 2012, in L. A., California.
 A dystopian novel.
 Published in 1953.
 The title, Fahrenheit 451, refers to the temperature at which paper
burns.

Fahrenheit 451  The Nazi book burnings inspired Bradbury to write Fahrenheit 451.
 It has been adapted into many forms of media, including movie, TV,
and theater.
 The book examines censorship and the value of freedom of speech
and ideas.

"THE HEART AND THE SALAMANDER"
 Guy Montag is a fireman whose job is to burn down houses in
which books have been discovered.
 One day, he meets Clarisse, a teenage girl who questions social
rules.
 After that, he finds that his wife, Mildred, attempted suicide.
 Montag and Clarisse begin talking regularly until one day she

 Then Montag finds a group of rebels who memorize books.

 The city is destroyed in the bombing and rebels return to the


city to rebuild society.
 In the beginning, he was a fireman and did everything the
regime ordered.

 After meeting Clarisse and witnessing a woman dying with her


books, he begins to question his job.

 He wants to share his ideas with his wife and friends.

 He eventually becomes a rebel and takes part in rebuilding the


community after the war.
