Family and Friends

Describe your family
Number of members
My immediate family is quite small, because I’m an only child. My mum is one of 5 children,
so I have a lot of cousins, who are kind of like my brothers and sisters.

I just have one sister, who is 5 years older than me.
I’m the middle child, my brother is 2 years older and I have a younger sister who is in year 5.
Your relationship with your family (immediate and extended)
I’m very close to my family. We have lunch together every weekend at my grandmother’s
house. She always cooks something delicious!

• I’m very different from my mum. She’s talkative and doesn’t like to wait
for anything, but I’m very shy and patient

• Although my brother enjoys playing sports, while I prefer reading and
watching movies, we both enjoy playing video games together.
• We always have lunch/dinner together at the weekend…sometimes we
go away for the weekend

• I come from a small family as there are 4 people in my immediate
family, although my extended family is quite large. I have a younger
sister, who looks like me; we both have brown eyes and black curly
hair. However, we have different interests, she likes staying at home
and cooking, but I prefer gardening and outdoor activities.
• I’m very close to my extended family. We have lunch together every
weekend at my grandmother’s house, where I see my cousins. My
grandmother always cooks something delicious, and my grandfather
tells us fun stories about his childhood and youth. I play a lot with my
cousins and also chat about our schools and teachers.
• We have other relatives who live in Canada, but we don’t see them
often. We just talk on skype from time to time.
Well, we have got five family members in our family including me. My father is a Doctor
and my hero. My mother is a school teacher and a loving and caring person. We love our
parents very much. My younger sister is in grade 7; she has got all the crazy and creative
ideas and she shares most of her secrets with me. My older brother is studying
mathematics at a university and he has got a passion for playing football. He dreams to
become a professional football player someday though I have my doubts about it. I’m
finishing my IGCSE and I’m planning to join a reputable foreign university. We are a
happy family and share a strong bonding that makes us care for each other a lot.
