SOCIETY
Is a group of people
with common territory,
interaction, and culture.
CULTURE
A complex whole that encompasses
beliefs, practices, values, attitudes,
laws, norms, artifacts, symbols,
knowledge, and everything that a person
learns and shares as a member of society.
Material culture emerges
from and is shaped by the
non-material aspects of
culture.

CHANGE
Involves alteration of the social
order of a society. It may
include changes in social
institutions, social behaviors, or
social relations.
CULTURAL
CHANGE
Happens when something new (say,
railroads or smartphones) opens up
new ways of living and when new
ideas enter a culture (say, as a result
of travel or globalization)
POLITICAL CHANGE
Occurs when there is a
significant disruption in a
government that leads to new
or modified leadership or
policies.
