What do you think is the relevance of this to the crime he committed? - She ordered the knight to search for what women desire the most. This is his task because he abused a woman in his crime. And I think that the queen is trying to teach him a lesson here about the importance of respecting women's rights. 2. What makes the old woman’s answer to the queen’s question the right one? - In my opinion, all women desire sovereignty the most because they are not treated as equally as men. They want power or dominance because they have been deprived of it. 3. Which turns the old woman into a fair and young lady – the kiss or the knight’s reply? Defend your answer through logical analysis. - I believe it's because of the knights' reply. This is because the knight takes the old woman's suggestion to grant woman sovereignty. And that is exactly what he is doing. He is providing his wife the option to choose whichever she believes will bring the most honor, giving her control. 4. What does the tale suggest about men and women? -For me, it serves as a reminder of the importance of treating all men and women with respect and courtesy. Why? We all know that the knight never wanted to marry the old woman in the story. But even though he was disgusted by her looks, he eventually gave her control over his decisions, which led to a happy ending.
5. What do you think are the author’s
views on beauty? On knighthood? On marriage? Explain whether his view is an attack on it or glorification of it? -For me, he thinks of these three things as important and precious. He views beauty as something on the inside, knighthood as honor and bravery, and marriage as respect and loyalty. As I have read the story, the author's view is a glorification because he glorifies women, and also, I think he supports equality for women since during those times, women are considered low and weak.
