CCNA Exploration
Intended Partcipant

These course is designed and prepared to ensure

proficiency of professionals in Cisco Switches and
Routers installation, support and troubleshooting.
The participants of this training range from
people with little or no actual experience in Cisco
Switches and Routers administration
to
individuals who are working in entry-level to
intermediate positions in the field.
Prerequisites

There are no official prerequisites for attending the training or for

using the course content, but the trainees are expected to be
familiar with basics of Network Technology.
Course Objective

Part One
The focus of this section is on learning the
fundamentals of networking .
 you will learn both the practical and conceptual skills that
build the foundation for understanding basic networking
 you will be introduced to the two major models used to
plan and implement networks: OSI and TCP/IP .
 will gain an understanding of the “layered” approach to
networks and examine the OSI and TCP/IP layers in
detail to understand their functions and services
 You will become familiar with the various network
devices, network addressing schemes and, finally, the
types of media used to carry data across the network
Course Objective (continued)

Part II:
The goal of this section is to develop an
understanding of how a router learns about remote
networks and determines the best path to those
networks

This section focuses on implementing, verifying, and

troubleshooting both static routing and dynamic routing
protocols operation.
 By examining multiple routing protocols, you will gain a
better understanding of each of the individual routing
protocols and a better perspective of routing in general.
Course Objective (continued)

Part III:
This section focuses on Layer 2 switching protocols and
concepts used to improve redundancy, propagate VLAN
information, and secure the portion of the network where most
users access network services.
 how switches perform address learning and make
forwarding and filtering decisions.
 Network loops and how to avoid them with the Spanning
Tree Protocol (STP) will be discussed,
 the different LAN switch types used by Cisco switches.
 Controlling access to Cisco Switches using Port Security
 Covers virtual LANs and how you can use them in your
internetwork
Course Objective (continued)

Part IV:
The goal is to develop an understanding of various WAN
technologies to connect small- to medium-sized business
networks.
 This section focuses on WAN technologies including
PPP, Frame Relay, and broadband links.
 WAN security concepts are discussed in detail, including
types of threats, how to analyze network vulnerabilities,
general methods for mitigating common security threats
and types of security appliances and applications.
 Explains the principles of traffic control and
access control lists (ACLs) and describes how to
implement IP addressing services for an
Enterprise network, including how to configure
NAT and DHCP. IPv6 addressing concepts are
also discussed.
 Finally, students learn how to detect,
troubleshoot and correct common Enterprise
network implementation issues.
 Personal Computer
 Overhead Projector
 Presentation Slide
 Cisco Routers
 Cisco Switches
