❖ Title of the Project

Hybrid Energy Operated River and Canal Trash Collecting Robot

❖ System Design

● In system design we mainly concentrate on the following parameters:-

• System design selection based on physical constraints.

• Arrangement of various component.
• Components of system.
• Man-machine Interaction.
• Chances of failure.
• Servicing facility.
• Weight of machine.
❖ Mechanical Design

● In system design we mainly concentrate on the following parameters:-

• Physical Properties of Material.

• Loads, Stresses, Deformation and Failure.
• Theories and Wear analysis.
• External and Internal forces acting on machine parts.

• These forces may be classified as;

a) Dead weight forces.
b) Friction forces.
c) Inertia forces.
d) Centrifugal forces.
e) Forces generated during power transmission etc.
❖ Design Calculations

● Selection of Bearing

● Spindle bearing will be subjected to purely medium radial loads; hence we shall use ball
bearings for our application.

● Selecting single row deep groove ball bearing as follows;

ISI NO. Bearing of basic d D D D2 B Basic Capacity

Design no 1

20BC02 6000z 10 10 26 24 9 10000 6550

❖ Design Calculations

.P = X F + Y F a

For our application F a = o

P=XFr
Where F r = 204.5 N
As ; F r < e → X = 1
P=Fr
Max radial load = F r = 204.5
P = 204.5 N
Calculation dynamic load capacity of bearing
❖ Design Calculations

L = ( C ) p where p =3 for ball bearings

When P for ball Bearing
For m/c used for eight hr of service per day;
L h = 12000- 20000 hr
But ; L = 60 n L h
L = 600 mrev
Now; 600 = ( C )3 = ( 204.5)3
C =1724.8 N

As the required dynamic capacity of bearing is less than the rated dynamic capacity of bearing,
Hence bearing is safe.
❖ Design Calculations

● Motor calculations
Type:- DC Motor

Power= V×I

Where, Volt= 12V

Amp=7.6 Amp

Power= 12 × 7.6

Power = 85 Watt
❖ Design Calculations

SELECTTION OF BATTERY AND SOLAR PANEL

The power consumption is generally given in Watts .A motor used is around 10W this information can be
found on the data sticker that most electrical items have. To calculate the energy you will use over time,
just multiply the power consumption by the hours of intended use the 10W motor, on for 2 hours, will take
10 x 2 = 20WH from the battery.

X (Battery size in AH) x Y (Battery Voltage) = Z (Power available in watt hours for a 1.3AH, 12V battery
the Watt Hours figure is 1.3(X) x 12(Y) = 15.6 WH (Z)This means the battery could supply 15.6W for 1
hour, 7.8W for 2 i.e. the more energy you take, the faster the battery discharges .

Battery=12V 10W,
P=V*I=12*1=12W, battery selected=12V, 1.3 Amp=12*1.3=15.6Amp solar panel selected=12V ,1Amp
❖ Components and Required Parts

1. Base Frame
A frame is often a structural system that supports other components of a model. It consists of hollow pipes. The
two hollow pipes joint together by permanent fastening with the help of M-seal.

2. Shaft
Hollow shaft used to transmit the power with the help of belt drive.

3. Motor
A DC motor is any of a class of rotary electrical machines that converts direct current electrical energy into
mechanical energy. The most common types rely on the forces produced by magnetic fields.

4. Chain & Sprocket

A sprocket or sprocket-wheel is a profiled wheel with teeth, or cogs, that mesh with a chain, track or other
perforated or indented material. The name 'sprocket' applies generally to any wheel upon which radial projections
engage a chain passing over it. Sprockets typically do not have a flange.

5. Ball Bearing
A ball bearing is a type of rolling-element bearing that uses balls to maintain the separation between the bearing
races. The purpose of a ball bearing is to reduce rotational friction and support radial and axial loads. However,
they can tolerate some misalignment of the inner and outer races.
 Components and Required Parts

6. Collecting Tray
It is used to collect waste garbage from the river. It can collect waste between 5-10 kg.

7. Conveyor Belt
It is carrying medium of a belt conveyor system. It help the waste to direct it to collecting tray with the help of belt.

8. Propeller
It is a mechanical device used to develop thrust inside the water for propelling the floating body.

9. Battery
The purpose of the battery in a series circuit is to give the circuit a source of energy. The purpose of a switch in a series
circuit is to make it easy to open or close the electrical circuit, turning the flow of electricity on or off.

10. Electrical Circuit

The circuit which help the Robot to move or float around the river for collecting waste through a mobile app. It helps to
control the robot.
