Lesson 3
LINE
With line you can create continuous
line segments. Each line segment
can be edited separately.
POLYLINE
A 2-D polyline is a connected sequence
of segments created as a single planar
object. It can be a straight line or arc
segments or combination of both.
COMMAND: TYPE “PL” Short cut for
Polyline.

Lesson 3
SPLINE
Creates a smooth curve that passes through
or near a specified point. SPLINE creates
curves called non uniformal B-splines
(NURBS)., referred to as splines for simplicity.

Lesson 3
MULTI-LINE
Draws a multiline segment to
the specified point using the
current multiline style and
continues to prompt for points.
ARC
Creates an Arc using three
points.
COMMAND: TYPE “A” Short
cut for Arc. Finished curve line
or Spline.

CenterPoint and radius.

Lesson 3
ELLIPSE
Creates an ellipse using the
length of the second axis and
the endpoint of the first axis.
POLYGON
Creates an equilateral closed polyline. You
can specify the different parameters of the
polygon including the number of sides.
The difference between the Inscribed and
circumscribed options is shown.
RECTANGLE
Creates a rectangular polyline.
COMMAND: TYPE “REC” Short
cut for Rectangle.

Lesson 3
ERASE
Removes object/objects from a drawing. Instead
of selecting objects to erase, you can enter an
option such as L to erase the last object drawn,
P to erase the previous selection set or ALL to
erase all objects you can also enter (?) to get a
list of all options.

TRIM
Trims objects to meet edges of
another object.

Lesson 3
FILLET
The fillet command automatically rounds a sharp
corner (intersection of two Lines, Arcs, Circles, or Pline
vertices) with a radius. You only specify the radius and
select the objects to be filleted. The objects to fillet do
not have to completely intersect but can overlap. You
can specify whether or not the object is automatically
extended or trimmed as necessary

COPY
Copies objects at a specified
distance in a specified direction.

Lesson 3
OFFSET
Offset creates a parallel copy of selected object.
Selected object can be Lines, Arcs, Circles,
Plines or other objects. Two options are
available with offset; offset a specified distance
and offset through a specified point

Lesson 3
EXTEND
Extend can be thought of as the opposite
of Trim. Objects such as Lines, Arc, and
Pline can be extended until intersecting
another object called a “boundary edge”.

Lesson 3
EXPLODE
Breaks a compound objects into its component
objects. Explodes a compound object when you
want to modify its components separately.
Objects that can be exploded include blocks,
polylines, and regions.

MOVE
Moves objects a specified distance in a
specified direction. Use coordinates, grid
snaps, object snaps, and other tools to
move objects with precision

pattern. You can create copies of objects
in a regularly spaced rectangular. Polar or
path array.

MIRROR
Creates a mirrored copy of selected
objects. You can create objects that
represent half of a drawing. Select them
and mirror them across a specified line to
create the other half.

ROTATE
Rotates objects around a basepoint.
You can rotate selected objects
around a base point to an absolute
angle.
COMMAND: TYPE “RO” shortcut of
Rotate.

Lesson 3
SCALE
Enlarges Reduces selected objects, keeping the
proportions of the object the same after scaling. To
scale an object, specify a base point and scale factor.
The base point acts as a center of the scaling
operation and remains stationary. A scale factor
greater than 1 enlarges the object. A scale between 0
and 1 shrinks the object. For example, a circle with a
radius of 100 millimeters will be reduce half of its
original size. Let’s perform the steps.
