To develop a simulation

model with ARENA

software
To perform analysis on
existing system
OBJECTIVES
To perceive the random
effects on the system

To measure the performance

of a Barbershop
A simulation imitates the operation of
real-world processes or systems with the
use of models.

INTRODUCTION
The model represents the key behaviors
and characteristics of the selected
process while the simulation represents
how the model evolves under different
conditions over time.

In our project we have tried to analyze

an existing system through ARENA
software. We have selected a barbershop
and simulated the process to understand
it’s efficiency.

SIMULATION SOFTWARE

Arena Simulation Software is not only the most widely-used simulation

product on the market today, but it is also the most comprehensive. The
Educational version of Arena provides value by introducing students to
the principles of simulation.

Project Summary

•From the evaluation of above results, 2 counters are

not enough in normal time as the waiting time or
queue length can keep rising to an alarming amount.

•During the peak time, 3 or more counters/barbers

may come in handy.
Simulation allows a learner to function in an
environment as close as possible to an actual
situation and provides opportunity to analyze
for development without interrupting the
Conclusion workflow.

Through Arena software, a simulation study

was conducted of a pharmacy shop, and the
results were shown.
