BACKGROUND OBJECTIVES
Research Design
The research study was conducted at the Philippine College of Science and
Technology located at Old Nalsian Road, Calasiao, Pangasinan. The
researchers had chosen this school since it has been observed that they are
most likely to use the research formatting application for research
purposes.
The sample method to be utilized by the researchers will be convenience
sampling, and they come up with twenty five (25) total numbers of
respondents. For the testing of the System, there are five (5) IT Experts as
respondents.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS
Present application used by the PhilCST in formatting an
institutional research compliance
Functional Suitability
Functional Suitability is the capacity of system to provide specified
functions to enable users to achieve specified goals with accuracy and
completeness in a specified context of use (Montagud, 2016). The weighted
percentage is 4.15%, which means the majority of the evaluators agree with the
functional suitability of the system.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS
Performance Efficiency
Performance Efficiency pillar includes the ability to use computing resources
efficiently to meet system requirements, and to maintain that efficiency as demand changes
and technologies evolve (Amazon Web Services, Inc., 2020). The weighted percentage is
4.6%, which means that the majority of the evaluators agreed with the performance of the
system.
Compatibility
Compatibility is the capacity for two systems to work together without having to be
altered to do so. Compatible software applications use the same data formats (Techtarget,
2022). The weighted percentage is 4.2%, which means the majority of evaluators agree with
regards to the Compatibility of the system in terms of hardware and software.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS
Usability
Usability testing refers to evaluating a product or service by testing it with representative
users. Typically, during a test, participants will try to complete typical tasks while observers
watch, listen and takes notes. The goal is to identify any usability problems, collect qualitative
and quantitative data and determine the participant's satisfaction with the product (Usability.gov,
2022). The weighted percentage is 4.4 %, which means the majority of evaluators strongly
agree with regards to the Usability of the system in terms of effectiveness and efficiency.
Reliability
Reliability refers to whether research methods can reproduce the same results multiple
times. If your research methods can produce consistent results, then the methods are likely
reliable and not influenced by external factors (Indeed Editorial Team, 2022). The weighted
percentage is 4.2 %, which means the majority of evaluators agree with regards to the
Reliability of the system.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS
Security
Security means the protection, guarding or defence of persons, property (real and/or intellectual) or
the Realm from threats posed by crime, terrorism, or business malpractice. It is the business of dealing with
the risks presented by such threats and the creation of a response and/or defence to them. (Register of
Chartered Security Professionals, 2020). The weighted percentage is 4.34%, which means the majority of
evaluators strongly agree with regards to the Security of the system.
Maintainability
Maintainability is defined as the probability that a failed component or system will be restored or
repaired to a specified condition within a specified period or time when maintenance is performed in
accordance with prescribed procedures (ScienceDirect, 2021). The weighted percentage is 4.53%, which
means the majority of evaluators strongly agree with regards to the Maintainability of the system.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS
Portability
Portability is defined as the capability of a program to be
executed on various types of data processing systems without
converting the program to a different language and with little or no
modification (Joinup - European Union, 2020). The weighted
percentage is 4.2%, which means the majority of evaluators agree with
regards to the Portability of the system.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS
The Average Weighted Percentage is 4.33%. This meant that the majority of the
evaluators strongly agreed that the proposed system is in compliance with ISO 25010
Software Quality Standards in terms of Functional Suitability, Performance Efficiency,
Compatibility, Usability, Reliability, Security, Maintainability, and Portability of the
system.
CONCLUSIONS
According to the findings of this study, the present application that PhilCST
used until now is manual checking hardcopy of correcting and editing of every
file or document. As a result, it consumes a lot of time to be able to finish
checking all the papers. For this reason, the implementation of the application is
very important.
The result shows that the majority of respondents had problems encountered
with the present application used in the research format application. This shows
that with the MS Word Application, all the underlying problems in the manual
process will be resolved based on the findings.
CONCLUSIONS
Based on the finding, the top 3 selected by the respondents presents the functional
requirements needed in the development of the application. With the result of the
study, the researchers conclude that the top 3 choices must be implemented and
accomplish to make the application the best way to human errors.
The findings of the study revealed the top 3 features that the respondents had been
chosen for the development of the study. This features serves as the tools that will
make the application more appealing, accurate, and will makes it different from
other application.
