"The Evolution of

Computers"
Mechanical
calculator
• In 17th century, Blaise Pascal and Gottfried
Wilhem Leibniz invented the first calculator in
order to make mathematical operations easily.
Pascal invented "Pascaline" , Also
Leibniz
created Leibniz stepped reckorner. These
are earlier calculators that could
perform basic operations such as
addition ,subtraction,multiplication and
division.
In 19th century , Charles Babbage established
Electromechanica the groundwork for IT. The first computer that
l computers could be programmed with punched cards , and
it was able to solve complicated functions.
Moreover , Ada Lovelace who was known as
the first women computer programmer wrote
algorithms for analitic engines.
Electronic
Computers

• In the second half of the 20th

century,The advancement of
electronic computers created a
digital revolution. Early
electronic computers such as
ENIAC and Colossus were fast
and strong thanks to vacum tubes
and transistors.
Personal Computers
Revolution

• In 1970s , a microprocessor was

developed by Jack Kilby and Robert
Noyce. It provided cheap and small
computers. That is why, they became
widespread in homes and offices
• Quantum computers made up of qubits whereas
other computers composed of 0 and 1. By the way

The Age of qubits can exist in a superposition of 1 and 0 at the

same time. That is why , the quantum computers can
Quantum solve complicated problems which classical
computers cannot . Also I will
Computing mention artifical intelligence because it relates to
evolution of computers.
and Artificial
Intelligence • AI is a field of science that allows machines to
mimic human intelligence. It develops some systems
and algorithms that enable machine learning and
solving problems.
